Pompano Beach Mobile Locksmith — Questions & Answers

Here are the questions people ask about how Pompano Beach Mobile Locksmith works: hours, night cost, ID, payment, licensing, condo rules and language. Anything specific to one service — say, rekeying or a new fob — lives on that service's own page.

Are you open around the clock?

Yes — 24 hours a day, every day of the year, holidays included. Call or text (954) 906-3733 at any hour.

The key broke in my condo door lock. Can you get it out?

Yes, from $95 — priced like a lockout. Salt air makes pins stiff near the beach, which is a common reason keys snap. David E. removes the piece and, if the cylinder is corroded, swaps it for one with a finish made for the coast.

Who answers when I call?

We do, as "Pompano Beach Mobile Locksmith." No out-of-state dispatcher takes the call. If a number you found for us is answered with only "locksmith," call (954) 906-3733 again.

Do you work with property managers, rental hosts and condo associations in Pompano Beach?

Yes: tenant-turnover rekeys, keypad code changes between guests, master-key systems, and condo units keyed into the association master once the board signs off in writing. Each job is billed separately at list prices.

Which Pompano Beach ZIP codes are yours?

Any address that is legally in Pompano Beach, across 33060, 33062, 33064 and 33069. The same four ZIPs also reach into next-door towns, so a street name on the call is how we confirm you're on our side of the line.

How can I tell if my home is really inside Pompano Beach?

Give us the street and we'll check it before driving. The usual mix-ups are Lighthouse Point to the north and Hillsboro Beach across the inlet, which share 33064 and 33062 with parts of Pompano but run their own town halls. Our home page shows where the city stops.

Is a call at night or on a Sunday more expensive?

No. Home lockouts begin at $95 and cars at $89, at 2 a.m. or at noon. Everything is on the prices page.

How long until you arrive?

About 20 minutes is normal for any address inside Pompano Beach, and David E. tells you the actual time before hanging up. He's based here and serves no other city, so he isn't crossing the county to reach you.

When and how do I pay?

When the job is finished and tested, not before; we never take deposits or point anyone to an ATM. Cash, Zelle, Apple Pay, Google Pay and every major card are fine, and an itemized invoice follows by text or email.

And if I turn down the price once he's at my door?

You owe us nothing, not even for the drive. Same if the lock can only be beaten by drilling and you say no: no charge for trying. And calling it off before David E. arrives is free.

What proof do you need to open my home?

Government ID with this address on it. If yours shows another address, your lease, deed or a utility bill for the home works. Locked inside? We check it the moment the door opens.

And for a car?

Your ID plus a document tying you to the car — its registration, title or the rental agreement, with matching names.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — licensed & insured. The license is our City of Pompano Beach Business Tax Receipt; the insurance is a commercial general liability policy, and any building or manager can request the certificate.

Does Broward County still license locksmiths?

No. With HB 735 in force since July 1, 2021, the county neither licenses locksmiths nor registers their companies (Broward County), and Florida has never issued a statewide locksmith license. What a Broward locksmith can show is a city or county business tax receipt and proof of insurance. The full checklist is in how to vet a locksmith.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for half a year on our labor: anything we fitted or repaired that stops behaving in that time gets fixed free on a return trip. New locks bring the maker's warranty as well.

How many keys do I get?

Two come with every rekey or new lock. Spares are $5 apiece, and he cuts them before he leaves.

My condo association wants a key to my unit. Should I give one?

Often the condo documents require it (Siegfried Rivera). When we rekey or change your lock, we can cut the association's copy during the same visit.

I'm a landlord. Can you change locks on a tenant?

Not to keep a tenant out — Florida law forbids that (F.S. 83.67). We rekey after move-out, between tenants, or for a repair.

I live up north half the year. Can you do a job while I'm away?

Yes, if someone you authorize in writing — a manager, the neighbor across the hall or a cleaner — meets us and signs off. Text us their name before the visit; they settle the invoice on site after testing.

A guest is stuck outside my rental. Can you help?

Yes. The host vouches for the stay with a text or call, and the guest's photo ID has to match the reservation name before the door opens. Same price at 1 a.m. as at 1 p.m.

Can you meet me in a parking lot — the Amp, Pompano Citi Centre, the Fishing Village garage?

Yes. Tell us the lot, the row or level, and the car's color; see car lockout.

Do you speak Spanish?

Sí. Say "español" when we pick up, or open the Spanish FAQ.

Are you a national network?

No. It's one Pompano Beach business with David E. as lead technician, and there's no dispatch center. Questions in writing go to david@pompanobeachmobilelocksmith.com.
